A far cry from violin concertos and serious choral repertoire, on the 8th of December Elvet Methodist church housed the Northern Lights, Durham’s premier a cappella group. The bountiful array of Christmas lights that greeted substantial audience proved to be a mere feature of the sheer dedicated to the evening’s entertainment. FEMALE COMPOSERS NEEDED Music Durham is seeking female composers to take centre stage in their concert celebrating International Women’s Day in the first week of March 2016. This is a fantastic opportunity to get your compositions performed and workshopped with likeminded musicians. If you are interested please complete the Google docs form (http://goo.gl/forms/dVvShKY2zm) and send your composition to Sarah at s.f.hopkinson@durham.ac.uk.
