Applications are now open for the roles Manager and Assistant Manager in the 2019/20  academic year for Durham University Chamber Choir.

The deadline for applications is 5pm Sunday 2 June, with interviews held on Tuesday 4 June. To apply, please send a CV and cover letter to [email protected].

Responsibilities:

  • scheduling auditions and rehearsals for the year
  • booking audition, rehearsal and concert venues
  • organising masterclasses and outreach projects for the choir
  • applying for grants and securing choir funding for the year
  • managing choir absences and conduct
  • managine the choir’s additional commitments outside of the normal schedule
  • working closely with the conductor on concert ideas and plans for the year
  • acting as a point of contact for other exec members
  • overseeing the general running of the society

Necessary skills:

  • strong leadership skills
  • good organisational and self-management skills
  • strong communication skills, including written and verbal
  • ability to manage time effectively
  • experience on a previous committee is desirable but not required

Responsibilities:

  • holding auditions with the Manager and Conductor
  • organising the choir’s annual tour
  • ordering stash
  • overseeing financial responsibilities of the society and monitoring expenditure
  • assisting the Manager in any necessary tasks and acting as a second point of call in their absence

Necessary skills:

  • confident using Excel and managing finances
  • strong organisational and self-management skills
  • confident communicator especially when contacting individuals abroad
