If you have an interest in exploring new and experimental music as a performer or a listener, there’s an extraordinary weekend of activities coming up on 6th-8th March you should know about.
James Weeks has curated the whole event with Royal Northern Sinfonia and CoMA (Contemporary Music for All), and we are very excited about what is on offer:
Friday 6th March, 7.30pm: Royal Northern Sinfonia and Chorus, cond. James Weeks, perform a panorama of new works in a concert called Listening a World. Music by Cassandra Miller, Joanna Bailie, Egidija Medeksaite, James Weeks, Laurence Crane, Oliver Leith, Hollie Harding, Stephen Chase, Howard Skempton.
Sunday 8th March, 12pm-4.30pm: Play alongside members of RNS in workshops led by Grace Rossiter and James Weeks on music by Wandelweiser composers and new CoMA commissions, culminating in a performance of Terry Riley’s immersive and ecstatic Olson III.
