The Primrose Piano Quartet is recognised as one the UK leading ensembles. Their acclaimed discography includes favourites such as Brahms’s G minor Piano Quartet and British repertoire featuring major commissions from Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and Anthony Payne. They have recently toured Denmark, Germany and Bulgaria, and their very own festival is currently in its sixth year. The year 2016 features the 80th birthday of British composer Anthony Payne, the occasion of which is being marked by a commission from the BBC Proms. Durham University contributes to the festivities by presenting this Musicon programme by the Primrose Piano Quartet
