Get an insight into the modern music industry, talk to leading professionals and learn about roles and creativity in this exciting field. This is an informal and conversational session with industry professionals working with Tileyard Education. If you’d like advice and feedback on pieces of your recorded work, bring them along on your mobile device and have the panel listen and respond – don’t worry, it will be supportive and constructive.
Guests will be Michelle Escoffery and Martyn Ware.
Michelle is an Ivor Novello award winning British singer, songwriter and vocal producer who went on to become one of only two female stock writers at EMI Publishing at the time, alongside Cathy Dennis. She has penned songs for Tina Turner, All Saints, Beverley Knight, Artful Dodger and has worked on vocal arrangements and production for Rod Stewart. She’s also performed with artists such as Stevie Wonder and George Michael.
Martyn is an English musician, composer, arranger, record producer and music programmer. As a founding member of The Human League and Heaven 17, he was partly responsible for songs such as “Being Boiled” and “Temptation”. As a producer, he’s worked with Tina Turner, Erasure and Terence Trent D-Arby.
The event will take place in the Calman Learning Centre, Room CLC 202 between 2 and 4pm on Wednesday 6th February, and will be chaired by Jamie Searles of Tileyard Studios in London.
