DUPO Chamber Summer Concert
- This event has passed.
19 June 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Durham University’s Palatinate Chamber Orchestra warmly invites you to its final concert of the year, set in the serenity of the Cathedral Chapter House. This evening of music will take you on an orchestral voyage through Western Europe, featuring Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Greensleeves, Debussy’s Girl with the Flaxen Hair, and closing with Beethoven’s triumphant Symphony No. 7 in A major. The concert will also feature Mozart’s Flute Concerto in G major, played by soloist Claudio Llinares.
DUPO Chamber is one of the university’s finest ensembles, comprised of around 35 musicians, conducted by Alex Bromwich and lead by Ben Bucknall. The orchestra has performed the music of Haydn, Holst, Barber, and Elgar throughout the academic year, with successful performances in St Margaret’s Church – Crossgate, Castle Great Hall, and Elvet Methodist Church. We hope to see you there!
