Join Music Durham, Durham University Music Department, and Durham University Classical Ensemble for a Baroque Strings Masterclass, given by Caroline Balding.
Caroline will deliver an all day workshop in baroque strings with music by Purcell, Handel, and Lully.
The masterclass is open to all members of Music Durham and the Music Department. Spaces are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis, so do get in touch with us to avoid missing out.
Caroline Balding has given recitals throughout the world and is often heard on BBC Radio 3. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music under Emanuel Hurwitz, and formed a close association with the Britten Pears School. As a baroque violinist, she has appeared with Florilegium, The English Concert and the Hanover Band. Caroline was also recently part of an acclaimed innovative project to rediscover the art of seventeenth century improvisation with The Division Lobby.
