Durham University’s only a cappella ensemble that specialises in barbershop harmony, Full Score, is performing their exciting show, which will be taken to Edinburgh Fringe later this year! They have prepared a show full of slick jazz and pop covers, tearful musical theatre ballads and some comedic Disney classics, so there's something for everyone! Singing both in dazzling harmony as a chorus and sharing intimate emotional moments as one-to-a-part quartets, prepare to be blown away by these incredible singers.

Durham University Orchestral Society Perform Shostakovich 10

On Sunday 19th June, Durham University Orchestral Society will be returning to Sage Gateshead for a concert featuring Zemlinsky’s Sinfonietta, before journeying to the studios of Hollywood in Korngold’s Violin Concerto in D major (soloist Jamie Frost) and concluding with Shostakovich’s exhilarating Symphony No.10. This programme is bound to excite with the virtuosity of the Korngold concerto and the immense power of the Shostakovich, written in criticism of the oppression of the Stalinist regime. The power of an 80 strong symphony orchestra will bring the concert hall to life and will definitely be an event you do not want to miss!
