Durham University Flute Choir is a relatively new and non-auditioned ensemble which welcomes all flute players. The idea is to be a fun group, playing both modern and more traditional flute ensemble music. In addition, it gives players the opportunity to develop their abilities, with sessions and workshops on advanced techniques such as flute beatboxing. They  put on various performances and concerts, and have developed a group which is remains relaxed and welcoming, yet maintains a high musical standard.

Recent performances include Christmas busking in Durham Market Place, ‘A Musical Extravaganza’ with Durham University Horn Society, and the choir were part of Music Durham’s ‘Around the World in 80 Minutes’ concert in Durham Castle.
