Applications are now open for the role of Masterclass Manager on this year’s Music Durham executive committee! This is a great opportunity to get more directly involved with Music Durham, network with professionals in the industry, and add some fantastic experience to your CV.

 

What does the role consist of?

Liaising with societies, music students and staff, and organising masterclasses through the year which will benefit students in preparation for concerts or individual performances. As Masterclass Manager you will contact some of the best industry professionals in the UK music scene to ask whether they would be willing to come and work with us at the university.

What skills do you need?

  • Good people skills as you liaise with societies and professionals
  • Time management is key – organising the sessions can be time consuming
  • Being enthusiastic and encouraging to get people involved in masterclasses

 

How do I run?

Step 1: Send us a Manifesto

Your manifesto should be one side of A4, sent as a jpg to Jess at j.r.lawrence@durham.ac.uk.  It should tell voters who you are, what you have een involved in, your experience, and what you would do in your role. It should ideally have pictures and be eye-catching, with not too much text.

The deadline for running is at the EGM.

Step 2: Hust at the EGM

The EGM is on Wednesday 31st October at 2:30pm in the Music Department Concert Room. People will hust for the position by simply standing up and talking for about 2 minutes about why they want the role and why they will be perfect for it. Members at the EGM then have the opportunity to ask questions.

Step 3: Members’ Vote

Voting takes place online via the Music Durham website for paid Music Durham members.
