Purple Radio, Durham University’s student radio society, are looking to recruit a Head of Music to their executive committee. This is the perfect opportunity to gain some experience in working with radio that will look great on your CV. Applicants should have a passion for music and be able to promote and give exposure to music across the spectrum regardless of own personal taste.

Key responsibilities include:

  • taking responsibility for the ‘Saturday Sessions’ live music show, sourcing bands to play live each week and acting as a port of call for aspiring artists wishing to gain exposure
  • building contacts with record labels and other promoters in the music industry, as well as working with existing contacts
  • leading and coordinating the Music Playlist Team in selecting the best music for weekly station playlists
