Sage Gateshead is looking for two Young Trustees between the ages of 18 and 25 to join its board of trustees for a one-year term, starting in Spring 2019.

The deadline for applications is Friday 18 January 2019.

Becoming a Trustee means gaining an insight into the company, becoming aware of what goes on behind the scenes and getting a deeper understanding of how the business is developing and its direction of travel. This will enable you to influence and contribute to Sage Gateshead’s cultural offer to children and young people. This is a chance to share your perspective on how Sage Gateshead can best serve the community through performance, participation and engagement.

Your involvement will grow as you connect with senior staff and key figures in the organisation and the community. Conversations and round table discussions will help build your confidence; presenting your own views and the views of others in front of an audience is an essential skill in any career. In time, you will become more at ease with public speaking and develop transferable skills related to decision making processes and problem solving. These are great assets to add to your skill base and CV.

As a Young Trustee you will represent the voice of your peers and many other young people across the region who want to engage in musical and cultural activity. You can make a real difference, being involved on the board of a cultural organisation is an incredible opportunity – grab it while you can!
